WEDNESDAY NIGHTS KIRTAN
With Ishwari & Sruti Ram
This is high energy kirtan. It is both ancient and modern with a spirit of joy that is pulsating and catching. They use harmony as a way of communing with the divine and together evoke a feeling of bliss.  It reminds us that we are all divine expressions of the same human family.
Says Stephan Rechtschaffen, co-founder of Omega Institute, "Sruti Ram and Ishwari have created a CD of kirtan and sound that delivers a profound experience for the listener. Their performance at Omega's Ecstatic Chant created a feeling of spirit that moved all who participated. They offer an authentic experience of bhajan."

"The more that Sruti Ram & Ishwari played, the more faces lit up; and the healing and soothing effect of the music could be seen and felt.  Smiles prevailed as the music filled the room."   Richard Humleker, Chief of Development, The Center for Discovery
"The entire ensemble was so joyous and electrifying that I have carried the chanting with me through my daily life and into my sleeping life, as well."  Dorothy D., Art Historian

PARASHAKTI'S DANCE OF LIBERATION
Dance * Ritual * Live DJ and Special Guest-Nahdi Devi Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher
PARASHAKTI & GATEKEEPERS, NAHDI DEVI, JIVAMUKTI YOGA TEACHER, and the LIBERATION DRUMMERS lead participants into the realms of DANCE of LIBERATION with opening ceremony presented by ELDER KEITH STARHORSE of TREE OF LIFE; Dancers ride the wave of sacred rhythm guided by the use of healing sounds, hypnotic percussive rhythms, Yogic transformational breathing techniques and the use of sensory deprivation through blindfolding while dancing, the ceremony takes the dancer into 'trance' state that promotes physical emotional release and spiritual awakening. Through this transformational fusion of exploring the essence of spirit, dance, breath work and contemporary shamanism, we can access ancient wisdom and healing. This communal ceremony allows dancers to journey with clear intent and liberate their inner light. The use of blindfolds help shed inhibitions and heightens awareness, allowing dancers to go on a "vision quest", moving them to deeper states of consciousness and closer to their soul's purpose. Participants are ritually purified, uniting their heart, mind and spirit. All committed to the spirit of love, unity, healing, spiritual awakening and celebration of life! Through ecstatic dance and enthralling rhythms, we are able to bypass the limitations of the ego mind and connect to the mind of our heart. We dance our power, unlock and liberate our dreams!

SOUND FROM THE HEART: AN EVENING OF OVERTONE SINGING MEDITATIONS
Baird Hersey & Prana
Prana is a Sanskrit word meaning: breath, vital energy, life force.  It is the perfect name for a group who uses only their breath to make sound to relax the body, still the mind and open the heart. Prana is a nine voice, a cappella, overtone singing choir. Their sound is a unique mixture of western vocal music and the musics of Tibet, Mongolia and India. Applying the ancient traditional techniques of multiphonic chant, and throat singing to the natural singing voice, they each sing two mellifluous pitches at once, creating beautiful rising harmonies, shimmering vocal textures, and high arcing melodies.

"It is our intention to create something so beautiful that it will change people's lives. Falling short of that, (laughter) which we inevitable will, we hope to provide people with a moment of peaceful contemplation and transformation."

OPENING THE HEART OF BACKBENDS
w/ Sandhi Ferreira
Romance your soul and surrender your heart to the sky as you plant your feet into the earth! The practice of backbends are about moving into the future and letting go of fear of the unknown. If fear and hesitation remains as we attempt to open our hearts, pain results. (And often in the back!) But as we practice these asanas with heightened awareness of our connection to our strengths, the earth, and those we love, we overcome our fears and hesitations and  become love itself!

THE PATH OF THE BREATH
with Carla Dharani Ardito
The quality of your breathing directly affects the quality of your life.  Understanding "the path of the breath" through the body is essential to moving forward in your yoga practice.

In this workshop you will be provided with clear instruction on how to breathe efficiently in asana and vinyasa. Through study and experience you will become familiar with the techniques of proper breathing. This workshop has been carefully designed to make you aware of the parts of the body that are involved in breathing and help you release holding patterns so that you may experience the ideal positioning and free movement of the spine in and out of the postures.

Come and personalize your yoga practice and empower your life.

Carla Dharani Ardito has been practicing yoga for over 20 years.  After completing university in 1981, she went on to study the respiratory system and vocal production, became a voice teacher and trained numerous actors and singers to efficiently use the breath and body. After completing certification as a yoga instructor at the Integral Yoga Institute, Carla continued to study the science of the breath and in 2003 developed a workshop devoted to teaching individuals how to integrate breath awareness into the practice of yoga.  Carla's passion lies in sharing her knowledge of the relationship between our breath and our emotional and physical health.

EYE GAZING AT JIVAMUKTI BY MELANGE
Hosted by: Jeanine T. Abraham
It has been said that "the eyes are the window of the soul."  What would it be like to connect with someone after you've spent some time gazing into his or her eyes?  Enchanting.

We share eye contact in silence with delightful world music playing in the background to open the connection.   After the Gaze, we come together and enjoy the AfterGlow Dinner... a deliciously luscious vegan feast where eye gazers socialize in community at the lovely JivamukTea cafe. We offer an equal gender balance for our gatherings.

Eye Gazing is for single individuals only.  Eye Gazing works best with spiritually minded heterosexual Yogi's & Yogini's who are comfortable in their own skin, love to dance, are interested in connecting on a deeper level without alcohol and are vibrantly ageless.

Eye Gazing at Jivamukti by Melange is lovingly hosted by Jeanine T. Abraham of Melange Internationale.

* Coming Soon: Eye Gazing Parties for the Gay and Lesbian Community.  To be added to our E Mail List contact Jeanine at info@melangeinternationale.com
