800 Hour Teacher Training
After completing the Jivamukti Yoga 300-Hour Teacher Training and receiving certification, there is a continuing education program offered in full program Jivamukti Yoga Schools and Centers in the form of an apprenticeship. The Jivamukti Teacher Apprenticeship Program (“JTAP” or “the Apprenticeship”) is a mentored curriculum augmented by mentored teaching, practice, self-study and additional workshops, combining for a total of 500-plus hours of training. When combined with the 300-Hour Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training Program, this program certifies 800 hours of training. The apprentice/mentor system enhances practical teaching skills, directs independent study and integrates an asana and meditation practice schedule that contributes to professional enhancement and the deepening of sadhana. Next to a daily practice, which is required, the largest components of the program are weekly apprenticing in both Open and Basic classes, conferences with the mentor and giving and receiving In-Class Private lessons. The Program also requires satsang attendance and assistance, Sanskrit study and attendance at workshops with Sharon Gannon, David Life and/or certain other senior Jivamukti Yoga teachers. Certification is granted to those individuals who fulfill the JTAP’s requirements to the satisfaction of their mentor, who is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher. This program is offered only at full program Jivamukti Yoga Centers worldwide.
