Hari Ohm, my name is Mischa and I am a Jivamukti Yoga teacher based in Los Angeles, California. I began my yoga journey at 12 when I met my first teacher Turiya who guided to the teachings of Parahamsa Yogananda and the Self-Realization Fellowship. Since then I had slowly started learning more about kriyas for meditation and asanas from various lineages and teachers. After taking my first 200 hour hatha yoga teacher's training in California, I moved to Brooklyn New York and started teaching at a little studio off the Morgan L train called Jai Yoga Arts. It was there that I took my first Jivamukti Yoga Spiritual Warrior class with Glen Baez. I remember after that class, I was changed forever as a yogi, there was something different, something whole and complete about this style of yoga that I had never felt in an asana class before. It was my friend Glen who had led me to the Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC where I had met my teachers Rima Rabbath and Dechen Thurman. I became a daily practitioner of Jivamukti Yoga and meditation and spent the majority of my days practicing or teaching. I graduated from the 300 HR Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training in Nosara, Costa Rica with the blessing of Sharon Gannon, David Life, Rima Rabbath, and Jules Febre in June of 2013 and subsequently completed my 800 HR Jivamukti Teacher Apprenticeship Program in NYC with my mentor Dechen Karl Thurman. During my extended apprenticeship program I learned many advanced pranayama techniques with Dechen and also began teaching yoga for New Yorks Sports Club and Jivamukti Yoga School. Since then I moved to Dubai to spread the teachings of yoga asana, meditation, and veganism. I have taught Jivamukti at Dubai Yogafest, in workshops, retreats, and at the Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica. Now living in Los Angeles, I study Ashtanga Yoga with Jorgen Christiannson, Certified/Authorized by KPJAYI in Mysore India, and enjoy the ocean of bhakti daily. I believe a smile is the purest form of gratitude and include laughing as a part of my everyday spiritual practice. I am ever humbled to be on this journey of Self discovery with all those who have inspired me on my path and those I encounter everyday. Thank you to my family, all my teachers, Amma, Hanuman-baba, Lakshmi-devi, Sri Krishna, Govinda, Gopala, Bhagavan, Allah, God. Thank YOU for reading. I love YOU. May all beings everywhere be happy and free.
