Janice’s first initiation into yoga was through Bhakti, some twenty years ago, studying weekly and singing Kirtan with her former teacher Prabhudas in Hoboken’s parks. Soon after she began attending Hatha yoga classes, mostly Iyengar and Anusara based styles that included Vinyasa flow. Many years later, she came to know the Jivamukti Method, a method that continues to challenge and shape her and is the impetus for much of her growth.
In the summer of 2017, Janice embarked upon the 300-hour teacher training in Costa Rica and the clouds parted and the angels exclaimed, Hari Bol! She is inspired by and grateful for Sharonji and Davidji’s thorough and plentiful contribution to yoga as well as her teacher Rimaji and all of the amazing Jivamukti educators she has witnessed and from whom she continues to learn.
