Born and raised in Stavanger, Norway, I found yoga – and Jivamukti, in 2015 and quickly knew that I wanted to immerse myself in the practice through a Jivamukti teacher training. Little did I know that I would come to love teaching yoga. What draws me in, is the energy in the room during the classes, the practitioners’ dedication, and open-mindedness. I also have to admit that I love preparing the classes, going deeper into my own practice as well. That I would love teaching yoga, should not have come as a surprise, as I’m a teacher by profession, teaching, among other subjects, sociology. Being a sociologist with a heavy foundation in gender theory and research, Jivamukti Yoga’s emphasis on social justice and spiritual awakening through compassing for all beings resonate with me.
