Sharon moved to the Philadelphia area to purse a degree in teaching. After graduating with her baccalaureate degree she decided to purse nursing and obtained a second baccalaureate and master’s degree. Her professional career led her to become a college professor at which point she pursed her doctoral degree. Sharon works at an emergency nurse in Philadelphia and is the Chief Clinical Officer at an organization serving individuals with profound intellectual and developmental disabilities and medical fragility. Sharon and her husband Ed teach adaptive yoga to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sharon began yoga in 2011 and studied the Baptiste Methodology, she began teaching yoga shortly thereafter. Sharon was introduced to Jivamukti Yoga by the studio owner where she worked and read the book Jivamukti Yoga. Sharon was instantly drawn to these spiritual teachings and visited the New York Studio where her love for the practice continued and she took a Jivamukti Yoga Immersion facilitated by Jules Fabre and Yogeswari. In 2019, Sharon attended and graduated from the Jivamukti 75-hour teacher training program at the Jivamukti Yoga School in New York led by Austin Sanderson and facilitated by Jessica Stickler. Sharon is grateful to all her teachers throughout life, especially those who have imparted their spiritual wisdom and guidance to her.
