Krystal Stone has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1999 when she graduated from The Boulder College of Massage Therapy. She gained experience working with the Colorado Ballet and University of Colorado Buffalos Football team. In 2001, she moved to New York City where she has since maintained a thriving private massage therapy practice.
Krystal Stone specializes in a unique muscular therapy style developed over her 15 years of practice. She describes her technique as a Deep Tissue Medical Massage with an Eastern Approach. This includes various medical massage techniques such as neuromuscular, trigger point and myofascial release. She augments these medically-based Western techniques with the intuitive, Eastern practices of shiatsu and moving meditation.
Ms. Stone studied dance at the Broadway Dance Center, which eventually led her to yoga. It was through her yoga practice that she was inspired to teach. She received her yoga certification in 2009 from the Integral Yoga Institute and currently provides therapeutic yoga instruction to her private massage clients. She has taught yoga at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in Tribeca as well as Marymount College. Today, she offers personalized yoga to enhance the benefits of therapeutic massage and has a dedicated yoga practice at the Jivamukti Yoga School.
