Derek “Pashupa" Goodwin has been a vegan for over 20 years. His search for a compassionate worldview led him to yoga, and he became a certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher in 2011. His yogi name, Pashupa, means “protector of animals.” A beloved teacher, Derek mixes his love of storytelling and music into his classes, which are physically challenging but always suited to the students he serves.
Derek is world renown for his photography of farm animals living in sanctuaries as well as his photography of yoga practitioners. He was the co-host of Vegan Radio, one of the first and most popular vegan podcasts of its time, which produced over 100 episodes. He also founded the Vegan Bus Project, a school bus converted to run on used vegetable oil that toured around the northeast and brought the vegan message all the way to Burning Man. He currently uses his photography skills to "help individuals and organizations that do good in the world to look great online.”
