In 2013 I relocated to Shanghai where I embarked on my yoga practice. Like most newcomers, I was inflexible and stiff at the beginning which has made me a huge believer that anybody can begin a yoga practice.
Having spent 4 years in Shanghai, I embarked on the next leg of my yoga journey when I travelled to India to complete the 300-Hour Jivamukti Teacher Training. Committed to developing my yoga practice, I invested a further six months completing an 800-Hour Apprenticeship at Jivamukti Yoga Barcelona under the guidance of advanced teacher Maria Macaya.
October 2017 saw the return to my hometown, Belfast, where I have been fortunate enough to begin sharing my love of yoga through teaching at various studios across Northern Ireland. My classes are challenging but accessible, and always work towards a peak pose to allow students to develop functional awareness and express themselves through their own yoga journey. We flow, but we pay attention to alignment, and you should leave class feeling stretched, challenged, and with a sense of rejuvenation.
I have had many inspirational teachers over the years, and I am particularly grateful for the teachings of Julia Cui, Christina Cheng, and Chops Hsu from Pure Yoga Shanghai for helping me develop a yoga practice. I'm also humbled by the teachings of Sharon Gannon, Yogeswari, Moritz Ulrich, and the teachers of Jivamukti Yoga Barcelona (Olga, Karina, and my mentor Maria) for maintaining such a safe and inspirational space for me to practice and learn.
