Truthfulness, Non-stealing, Continence, Greedlessness are Patanjali’s Ethical Guidelines on how to treat others.

SATYA: Truthfulness
Chanting the name of God is said to be one of the best ways to practice Satya. When you chant the name of God then you are sure that you are telling the Truth. It is a way to purify speech.

ASHTEYA: Non-stealing
Don’t take things that don’t belong to you. But what truly belongs to you? Nothing really is ours but our Divine nature. If we were to identify with this we would feel wealthy indeed.

BRAHMACHARYA: Continence
Sex can bind you into a world of separation or be a vehicle to take you closer to God, depending on your intention.

APARIGRAHA: Greedlessness
Aparigraha is the non-accumulation of things. Things take your energy; you must take care of them. This takes your energy and time away from spiritual practices. If it is collecting dust let go of it, get rid of it. Direct all that extra energy towards sadhana.
