Mokshala Yoga and Meditation Centre is an intimate and friendly studio, in the heart of Saffron Walden, a beautiful historical medieval town. It thrives on being an inclusive community of dedicated yoga teachers and practitioners from the local area as well as those who travel regularly from a little further – but with a strong link globally to well-known and loved Jivamukti teachers further a field.
Mokshala was founded by Jivamukti teacher Jac Godfrey and her husband Linz (known as Govinda Linz) and borne out of a visceral need to introduce true and authentic yoga practices via the Jivamukti method to an area where most classes were asana-only and often omitting deeper aspects, which can truly serve people.
Jac has been teaching yoga for 15 years. In 2016, she trained in India with Jules Febre, Lady Ruth as well as Sharon and David. In addition to Jac, Mokshala is blessed to have Andy Nathan teaching Jivamukti classes and also Andrea Kwiatkowski who is mentor to both Jac and Andy.
Since opening in April this year, Mokshala has already hosted a weekend retreat with Lady Ruth, as well as a weekend workshop with Ha’Chi Yu. In October, Jivamukti TT facilitator Moritz Ulrich is going to be running a UK exclusive Sanskrit course at Mokshala over a weekend. In 2019, there are some very exciting events planned, including a weekend of yoga with Jac’s teacher, Jules Febre.
‘Our aim at Mokshala is very simple – to just keep serving with love and to teach through the example of our own lives and practice. We are blessed to do this through constant connection to and support from the beautiful lineage that is Jivamukti Yoga.’
