Aparajita’s first encounter with Yoga was as a young child when she observed her father practicing asanas and pranayama every morning in the living room. She grew up surrounded by books on Yoga philosophy and participating in pujas, kirtan, and homas (fire offerings), paving the way for deeper spiritual inquiry later. Aparajita came to her first Jivamukti class one magical night in September 2017 in Palo Alto. Practicing over the years with her beloved teachers Toni Cupal, Terri Lewis, and Carly Boland, she was deeply touched by the invigorating and divine nature of the Jivamukti practice, which centers liberation as the ultimate goal of Yoga practice — as well as activism for non-human animals.
She received the 300-hour certification as a Jivamukti Yoga Teacher in 2021 and is eternally grateful for all the encouragement, support, and guidance from her teachers and for the opportunity to teach and practice.
