Ayscha likes to describe herself as a human being, non-violent in nature, a nomad by devotion and an artist at heart. She left home early and travelled the world. Ayscha has lived and worked in Africa, the Arabic Countries, the Caribbean, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South East Asia and has visited nearly a hundred countries so far.

In her teens, Ayscha practiced competitive sports to overcome health limitations she has had since birth. Most of these activities resulted in injuries and led to various surgeries, followed by many years of physiotherapy. Whereas she visited several yoga classes during those years, it was not until a visit to a tiny studio in Sao Paolo in 2012 when Ayscha discovered yoga and established a regular practice.

Starting with Ashtanga, Ayscha explored several yoga styles over the years, including Hatha, Iyengar, Kundalini and Yin Yoga. During a trip to New York, she visited the Jivamukti Union Square Studio for the first time. The world she discovered left a lasting impression on her and informed her decision to complete her teacher training in 2021.

To Ayscha, yoga allows us to explore new dimensions in our mind and body. In her teaching, she works with diverse audiences across continents, with a particular focus on assisting those that face physical and mental ailments to learn how to live more comfortably and confidently in their daily lives. To her, yoga is her base, her constant companion, and it is what she relies on without fail.

Learning forms a big part of her life and Ayscha has made adult education her profession. In her spare time, she dedicates much time to Afghanistan and the ongoing crisis, providing shelter and care for women, children and animals in need, and enjoys reading philosophy, and exploring hiking locations around the world with her two- and four legged companions.
