Liberty is a writer and philosophy teacher from Sydney, Australia, and she has been a dedicated Jivamukti student since 2014. Liberty is eternally grateful to David Life and Sharon Gannon, and to each and every one of her teachers for sharing the wisdom of this path with such inspiring generosity, patience and compassion. She is especially grateful to Sandy King, Doug Whittaker, Sas Stephenson, Anna Greer, Karolina Syzmala, Sandeep Vridi, Jules Febre, Rima Rabbath and Yogeswari. Having the opportunity to continue this legacy by passing along the teachings of the Jivamukti yoga method is truly an honour. Outside of yoga, Liberty has a background in science and conservation policy, and she is currently completing her PhD in philosophy. As an ethics lecturer and science writer, her work is very much influenced by the teachings of yoga, and likewise, Liberty’s yoga classes interweave the wisdom of the Jivamukti method and its call for compassion for all beings with examples from contemporary science and philosophy. In addition to Jivamukti, Liberty has studied Ashtanga with Sharath and Manju Jois, and she is dedicated to making the practices of yoga accessible to students of all backgrounds by using the principles of Trauma Informed Yoga to help cultivate a safe, supportive and compassionate space for all.
