Melissa spends her time teaching yoga to children and senior citizens in addition to weekly scheduled studio classes and exploring innovative ways to weave in the ancient tradition on a modern planet. The yoga journey officially began in 2010 when she started a daily practice at Jivamukti Yoga in Union Square NYC. It was the air of compassion at the studio for all beings everywhere that inspired her on this path of service. In 2016 she became certified to teach at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. She is grateful for all the early morning walks to yoga class at the sacred NYC studio space. It was within those walls she felt healing and kindness. Melissa is currently enrolled in a Holistic Health Practitioner’s program through which she will receive a certificate to practice alternative medicine by mid 2020. An interest in herbalism, nutrition, gardening, plant-based cooking, and sustainable designs, have all sparked a desire for Melissa to merge into her yoga practice while sharing in community. At the end of the day there’s peace in the simple saying, “I just want to serve. To uplift Mother Earth, in any way, shape, or form.”
