My name is Paula, but many call me Penny.
I’ve been practicing yoga for over 12 years and teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa/Power yoga/Jivamukti Yoga for about 5 years, with a special focus on Jivamukti Yoga for the past one years since I took the Spiritual Warrior teacher training. I’ve always been passionate about movement and understanding the body in all its variations. When I was young, I did contemporary dance and street dance in New York. In addition, I have a degree from the Professional Music Conservatory, I play the cello, and I can’t imagine life without music.
The combination of music and movement seems to me a very real and experimental way to get to know oneself. On the other hand, I have been interested in reading about science and spirituality since I was very young, and how both complement each other and help us on this exciting path of getting to know ourselves to realize that by getting to know ourselves we can understand the universe a little better.
For me, yoga and meditation are the most real and empirical ways I know to apply this and help you overcome the obstacles in your life, both on and off the mat.
That is why the Jivamukti Yoga method captivated me and was the first method that I felt integrated all my passions into a single 60-minute class. Intention, scriptural study, chanting, physical strength, mental strength, skill, flexibility…
Being able to share it with my students and allowing more people to get to know and enjoy this world is a privilege for which I am grateful every day.
